“The reality is that the Lord never calls the qualified; He qualifies the called.” ― Henry T. Blackaby

I have been a Pastor's Kid my whole life. Did I mention that I am the oldest out of 4 sibling? Yes, there is a lot of pressure and lots of expectations. I always had to be that good girl. I always like I had to live up to those expectations. I felt trap and I wanted to get out. I could not wait until college and then I can choose to be free. College came and I decided to go to Biola University in La Mirada California. I basically moved across the country. I came in as an undecided major. After awhile of thinking about what major to declare, I decided to choose between psychology or communication. However, right when I was about to declare that, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to declare Christian Ministry. I resisted because that's why I went so far from home to get away from ministry. Nevertheless, the more I prayed about about it, the more I realize that this is where I belong. No matter how I wanted to runaway, when God calls me, He will keep on pursuing.

Ministry is my calling. It is my passion. I find the most joy when I do ministry. As I ask the Lord specifically where He wants me in ministry, He gave me a deeper love for the local church. I love seeing the local church grow. I love seeing church as home where people can come as they are but leave changed, renewed, and refreshed. I want people to get excited when they go to church. So often times, church is seen as something people go on Sundays. It becomes a routine. I believe that God is calling His bride, "the church" to be the salt and light of the world. It is the calling of the church to love and reach the lost with the message of the gospel.

I want to lead others to know Jesus and accept Him as their Savior. I want them to know God, worship God, and—above all—to encounter his amazing grace. Just as Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 (NIV), “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” I now fully embrace my calling on this earth. I am a match, ignited by God, with a mission to spread my eternal spark to the ends of the earth.

Paul, the most prominent Christian missionary in history, said in Acts 20:24 (NIV), “but my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” His words remind me every day that my function on earth is to live for God and worship him in my every breath. When people ask me, “Why do you love God so much?” or “Why do you want to be in ministry” I reply, “I love God because He loved me when I couldn’t even love myself, and now I want to share this astonishing love to everyone.”

My calling is to be bring the hope and love of Jesus through my God-given gift in ministry everywhere I go.
